A dear friend once told me that I "came out of the womb a yogi".
Practicing Yoga has been a regular part of my life for many years.
After losing my brother and father within 2 years of one another,
Yoga allowed me to find balance in my universe again, and was my gateway
to healing...
During a meditation in early 2008 I woke with tears streaming down my
face and a flash of embarrassment initiated an "I'm sorry" to the
teacher of that class...I'll never forget her words to me... "these
tears are cleansing your soul to allow your life to be more peaceful. THIS is Yoga."...they were the most sincere, kind words a stranger had ever said to me...and THAT was YOGA!
Over the years, my love and passion for yoga has grown and touched my
family as well. My daughter has been practicing yoga since the age of 5;
and after several years of persuasion, my husband now regularly enjoys
yoga. Experiencing the many benefits yoga has to offer, my husband was
inspired to create a charity yoga program for at risk youths, in the
Flemingdon Park area of Toronto. "THIS is Yoga."
After spending 2 decades in the corporate world, I finally realized it
was my career choice that was making me unhappy, not who I worked for or
where. I made the choice to pack up my desk and say goodbye
to the only career I had ever known...not knowing where or what the
universe had in store for me. I knew in my heart, it was time for me to
change direction. "THAT was Yoga"
Inspired by a dear friend, I finally decided to follow my
heart to started my journey into the Yoga profession. I travelled to NY
to participate in a Certification Program through Rainbow Kids
Yoga, which is specifically designed to teach yoga to Children and
Families.
It is my passion in life to share yoga with children, and it starts one child at a time.
"THIS is Yoga"
Namaste.
